Note: It is hoped that the new Michelle Hill, William Morris range of fabric will be available. It is being launched at the Houston Quilt Shop.
Maleny Magic Patchwork and Quilts is committed to excellence, not only in quilting supplies, but also in quilting workshops and courses. In recent months, Maleny Magic Patchwork and Quilts has run several successful quilting courses led by respected and experiences tutors.
Class participants
Class sizes are limited to a maximum of five pupils (unless noted), to provide personalised tuition.
Please book early. A minimum of three participants are required for a class to proceed.
Deposit & Refunds
50% required when booking and the balance one week prior to the commencement of the course.
You receive a full refund if the course is cancelled one week prior to the class. All Class fees include GST.
Bookings for classes
Please phone 07 5499 9954 and speak to our friendly staff to make a booking. When you pay your deposit (half the class fee) you receive the requirements list. It is important that you have all your fabric in advance so that classes can commence on time.
We apologise that sometimes we need to cancel classes . It is essential that there at least 3 participants. We will try to give you as much notice as possible of cancellations. We hope you understand.

A William Morris Wall Hanging appliqué will be taught on Saturday 20 March. William Morris designs are known world-wide and you will learn one his designs featured in his latest beautiful book William Morris in Applique by Michele Hill. Teach Judy Carrow from Toowoomba is a friend of Michelle Hill and truly understands her technique.
Introduction to Patchwork for Beginners
This is another easy Quilt for beginners. Run over two Saturdays you will complete the quilt top at the first class and day two, the second Saturday, you will learn to assemble the quilt including simple “in the ditch” quilting. You will learn accurate measuring and rotary cutting techniques.

This will be a unique Block-of-the-month experience to treasure, completed over eight Sundays commencing in February 2010. Chelsea Garden evokes nostalgia for a romantic era past, with botanical florals, subtle tonals and soft backgrounds. It features 8 appliqué block designs, which can be fused (using buttonhole stitch) or needle-turned, inter-mixed with simpler pieced blocks.Designed by Margrit Hall, this stunning quilt measures 74 x 83 inches. The fabrics come from Robert Kaufman and are all included in the kit. Don’t miss out.

Christmas is coming
Make a small wall hanging of the Mother and Child
This is a 13” x 13” square wall hanging that features the depiction of the Mother and Child. It is beautifully simple. You will learn machine appliqué, adding borders, and simple quilting techniques. It is held over two Sundays. A kit is provided with all fabric requirements

Perfect Circles – morning workshop
Want to learn to make a perfect circle and place it into your patchwork design. Then this is the class for you. You will also learn how to use the Olfa Ratchet rotary Compass Cutter (available at the shop). The circles are cut and made from the Sharon Schamber method, which is fast, accurate and fun and requires sewing in the fold. Sharon’s book, ‘Piec-lique, Curves the New Way’, outlines many new and creative patterns using this method.

Winter Jacket – Fit all sizes
In three days make this stylist, fully lined, fit all sizes jacket. It can be made from Jelly Rolls, ruling out the cutting, or 2” strips. Also included in the class is simple pattern making. The jacket is on display in the shop now.
